Geeta Khanna is the Founder & Principal Director of Hirumchi Styling Company and the author of Style of India, the book. Hirumchi Styling Company (HSC) is India’s first styling company that was created in 2007. A visionary, her work in fashion spans over 23 years. Applauded for the best work and design by IIC for Style of India in 2017, her repertoire of work and accomplishments in commendable and large. She has been in fashion styling for more than a decade and is sensitive to creative process and its impact on people.
A NIFT graduate, she honed her skills at FIT, New York and then by working under Donna Karan, Carlos Campos and Marc Jacobs. A Delhi University graduate, Ms Khanna is from Patiala, Punjab.
She started her journey as a fashion designer under Carlos Campos and eventually transcended into Fashion media and content creation. As the fashion editor of Sportswear International (India Edition), and five other fashion trade magazines, she is able to understand the needs of the fashion industry and create valuable information. Her body of works includes content creation, conceptualization/directing and styling of shoots for covers, fashion and beauty features, and trend analysis and runway report creation.
She has been featured and her work is covered in magazines such as Indian Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, The Hindu, Indian Express, Business Standard, Arte Al Limite- Chile/NY/LA, L’Officiel, RLI Dubai, Times of India, Hindustan Times, amongst other publications.
Her first book Style of India, was launched at the French Embassy, is published by Hachette India. With collaboration with Chanel, Hermes, LVMH and Jean Paul Gaultier, Style of India is a work that has put Indian style on International map with its never before presentation.
Style of India has been bought by the Ministry of External affairs, Government of India, The UN office of India in New York and the ICCR. It is displayed at all Indian consulates worldwide.
